August 2026 — On August 27 and 28, 2026, Gothong Southern's sales and operations teams gathered at Solea Mactan Resort and Waterpark for GS Waypoint, our annual Sales and Operations Conference. Built around three pillars, Reflect, Build, and Commit, the two days were a checkpoint: a chance to look at where we have been, sharpen how we work, and agree on where we go next.
Reflect: An Honest Look Back
The conference opened with a review of the initiatives and promises made at last year's pre-strategic planning. Participants tested each one against three questions: Did it support our Balanced Scorecard? Did we actually do it? Did we track and measure it?
Teams then used a fishbone exercise to trace the root causes of why overall targets were not met. The discussion covered market conditions, manpower, vessels and equipment, processes, and measurement. It was candid, practical, and focused on causes the team can act on.
Build: Turning Ideas into Priorities
With the root causes on the table, participants built a path forward. Teams mapped proposed initiatives by revenue impact against the effort needed to carry them out, which helped separate quick wins from longer-term commitments.
Commit: One Set of Initiatives
The final workshop brought everything together. Teams added and organized the results under our five Balanced Scorecard perspectives: Learning and Growth, Internal Process, Customer, Financials, and Sustainable Value. The consolidated list becomes the benchmark for the strategic planning session, so the work done at GS Waypoint carries directly into our plans for the coming year.
Looking Ahead
GS Waypoint is meant to be a place we return to every year, and this edition did its job. We reflected honestly, built on real ideas, and committed to a shared direction. As we move into strategic planning, we carry that spirit forward, staying the course together.
